NATIONAL DANCES

Krakowiak - Cracovienne – it is a country dance with lively tempo in a duple time. It originates from the Cracow region.




Kujawiak - It is a calm dance in a triple time. It derives from the wedding ceremonies of the region of Kujawy.




Mazur – Mazurka – a national lively dance in a lively triple time. It was created in the Masovia region (Mazowsze).


 Polonez – Polonaise – a calm dance in a triple time. At first it was popular among ordinary people. Later it become popular in manor houses and noblemen. It has an opening function and is still used during official ceremonies.
