Puss in Boots” - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

Long, long time ago...

Noooo, this is not this kind of a story…

After the success of the children's theater teachers decided to do something similar themselves. After a long discussion we decided for a story about the Magic Cat that could speak human language.

Each of us was given a role to play and we started memorizing our lines. It was hard to combine rehearsals with work and family duties but we all enjoyed it.

When the day came children had a big surprise. Sometimes they even had problems with guessing which actor was their teacher.
In the end everybody had a lot of pleasure from this activity and decided to repeat it on another occasion.

“MESS IN FAIRY – LIKE FOREST” - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

Once upon a time…

...There were children from the kindergarten nr 163 in Lodz who really waned to become actors. That is why their teachers submitted them for the Children Theaters Competition and this is how it all started…

Many days of rehearsals have come. Children were tired and bored but nobody ever complained because everybody waned to be famous. Together with parents and other teachers they prepared costumes, decorations and other items needed for the performance.

Other children were playing in the garden while they were dancing and singing for the hundredth time the same song and dance, but they never complained.

And here comes the day of the first public performance…
What an applause, screams and smiles!!! Everywhere cameras and flashes of the photo cameras. Like in a real theater!

What a happy day that was! All concerns and taught moments perfectly rewarded!

All children together with teachers were very happy from their work and happily presented it to parents and other children in the kindergarten.

Visit in Łódź (13 – 15. 01.2012) - Lodz, PM 163 Poland

In January Lodz was the host of the project meeting. We waned to show all we have best, that is why we prepared a lot of attractions for our guests.

During their stay they met children and staff working in our kindergarten. They also took part in a lesson prepared in the group B (the oldest children) and an English lesson. While visiting other classes they had a chance to see a dance show prepared by children from a dancing group.
We also managed to see how the workof primary schools is organized in Poland on the example of 199 Primary School in Lodz.

The important point of our meeting was discussing our progress in realization of given tasks. Each school was presenting work and souvenirs prepared by children while learning about other countries taking part in the project.

The second important event was a guided tour around city of Lodz presenting our culture and history. Our guests had a chance to see the Jewish Cemetery, the Radegast Station and the Museum of City Lodz placed in the Poznanski Palace and walk through the longest
street of the city – Piotrkowska.

The closing point of the whole stay was official dinner with invited guests. The evening was started with a show prepared by dancing groups “Pędziwiatry” and “Czarne Stopy”.

Although it was cold, we had a wonderful time and we are already waiting for the third meeting.
Our memories from Birmingham  (15 – 17.10.2011) - Lodz, PM 163 Poland

In October 20011 teachers from our kindergarten visited one of the schools in England taking part
in Comenius Project called „One Song – One Voice”.

Nonsuch Primary School in Birmingham is coordinating the whole project. It is designed for 500 students from age of 4 till 11. There are children from various ethnic and social groups. 50 teachers are employed in this school
(2 for each class). Lessons take place from 9’00 am till 4’00 pm. This is very modern school meeting highest standards.

During our stay in Birmingham we had a possibility to observe lessons and visit the school. We also talked about similarities and differences between Polish and English systems of education. Together with teachers from Austria we lead part of the lesson.

Children managed to learn how to welcome someone in 2 languages other than their own one and sing the song of the project. After this activity we answered  many children's questions about our country as well as England. The meeting was finished with handing in the presents prepared by our children.

After this inspiring visit we were taken for an amazing walk through the city of Birmingham. It was amazing time which gave us unforgettable memories.
