Municipal Police - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

Our next task to carry out in the project was called "People who help us". Children got familiar with different proffessions specific to their community and people who help them in everyday life. As an example, we inivited two representatives of Municipal Police to share their experience with children. They talked about safety - what to do when a child meets unfamiliar dogs or when a stranger wants to talk to them. Children were very active, they asked a lot of questions and what is most important, knowledge they gained can safe them form danger in the future.

11 November - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

Last week we celebrated National Independence Day. Is is a public holiday in Poland celebrated every year on 11 November to commemorate the anniversary of Poland's assumption of independent statehood in 1918 after 123 years of partition by Russia, Prussia and Austria. On this occasion children prepared patriotic songs and poems which were presented in front of invited guests.

Dear friends and visitors - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

As a part of the project our children were getting familiar with different professions. Most professions we discussed were children' suggestions. Pupils gave reasons why certain jobs are important for the community and make our life easier (a doctor, a shop owner).
To find out more about chosen professions, children did 'small projects' (including role playing, art work, interviews etc) This task helped them to gain new experience and improved their self confidence - as some children could talk about their family members to give an example of specific profession.

Below you can see children creating art work. The final results will be presented in a common calendar.
