„IN AUSTRIAN CAFE” - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

11 December was In our Kindergarten Austrian Day. That is why we traveled to this beautiful country. We met there many interesting people who told us many stories about it. First guest showed us photos of Austrian mountains. Second, talked about work of best known composers. Children from 2 groups presented Austrian national dances. There was also small “test” to check what information children have. However, even the youngest did not have problems with question prepared by us. Oldest sang us song in German “Alle Kinder suchen einen Freund”. The last task was to dance traditional vienner waltz. After that we came back to Poland. We hope to visit this country again!

In A Snowland... - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

From 1st to 4th December we were hosted in Eibiswald by our Austrian friends. It was a wonderful time. The journey to the land of snow took few hours and provided us with beautiful landscapes and gave children lot of fun.
We noticed that in this small village, as well as in other cities of Austria, mostly recognized person of Christmas is Saint Nicolas instead of Santa Claus. Children knew him very well and prepared a lot of art works presenting his attributes and look.
However, the biggest surprise was an activity called “Kneippen”. Once a week, children exercise in cold water or barefoot on the snow to develop their immune system and get more healthy. Quick contact with snow or water is followed by warm – up games.
We also watched songs and games prepared by teachers from England and Austria. They gave us a lot of ideas and inspiration for future work.
Visiting other kindergartens and schools enabled us to compare educational system existing on each level of education. The trip to Eibiswald gave us insight into how Christmas is celebrated in Austria. Beautiful, but not overwhelming christmas decoration greeted us from every corner.
Best Christmas wishes from Lodz!

Municipal Police - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

Our next task to carry out in the project was called "People who help us". Children got familiar with different proffessions specific to their community and people who help them in everyday life. As an example, we inivited two representatives of Municipal Police to share their experience with children. They talked about safety - what to do when a child meets unfamiliar dogs or when a stranger wants to talk to them. Children were very active, they asked a lot of questions and what is most important, knowledge they gained can safe them form danger in the future.

11 November - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

Last week we celebrated National Independence Day. Is is a public holiday in Poland celebrated every year on 11 November to commemorate the anniversary of Poland's assumption of independent statehood in 1918 after 123 years of partition by Russia, Prussia and Austria. On this occasion children prepared patriotic songs and poems which were presented in front of invited guests.

Dear friends and visitors - Lodz, PM 163, Poland

As a part of the project our children were getting familiar with different professions. Most professions we discussed were children' suggestions. Pupils gave reasons why certain jobs are important for the community and make our life easier (a doctor, a shop owner).
To find out more about chosen professions, children did 'small projects' (including role playing, art work, interviews etc) This task helped them to gain new experience and improved their self confidence - as some children could talk about their family members to give an example of specific profession.

Below you can see children creating art work. The final results will be presented in a common calendar.

Lodz, PM 163, Poland

On 21st of September we celebrated Day of Kindergarden Children. Kids around Poland took part in special events prepared for the. In one of the most interesting places in Lodz "The PoznaƄski Palace" exposition of kindergarden from the city was held. One of the main topic of it was "Cooperation with European Union" and what can be done in this topic with the youngest and how much they can learn from such expierience. We as a representation of our kindergarden prepared presentation about "One song - one voice" project. We present our achivements, souvenirs and photos which showed others that this is not so hard to do. We went down good with other teachers and encourage them to prepare their own projects.

New Year have started and so we continue our work with new energy!!! We hope you refill your sources and that our cooperation will be even more interesting this year!
Just this week we had a special “Kindregarten Kids Day”. During celebrating it we acknowledged children with music from Austria and England. It was first time they could hear it and here you can see how much they enjoyed “creating” the dances. Soon they will have to learn to dance it in a way presented by you.
